My Passion for Music
First, I love to compose music to express how I feel about life, and it’s an outlet I really need. I tend to ‘hear’ whole pieces inside and then sit down and try to express what I feel. The music and the emotion always come first, and any lyrics are secondary. The process heals me the moment I can represent what I feel and hear, and then communicate my experiences to others. Both things are equally important to me, the feeling and the sharing, only then is the process complete.
The music I hear tends to express longing, beauty and innocence, as well as joy and celebration. I don’t seem to need to express darker feelings like anger, frustration or fear through music; I have other outlets for those. I began to make up tunes when I was three years old, but I didn’t really develop maturity, lyrically, until I encountered a spiritual path in my late twenties. Since then my constant source of inspiration has been life itself, and this has really released a flow. When I was younger I wrote protest songs but it never really quite gelled. As a child I used to listen to radio Luxembourg under the bedclothes, and liked Buddy Holly, Rick Nelson, Elvis and the Beatles, and as a young man I was inspired by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen and the like. Classically, I resonate particularly with Baroque music, especially Vivaldi, Albinone and Pachelbel, and casting the net wider still I really resonate with folk and ethnic music, especially Celtic music, South American and Middle Eastern music. In a former age I might have been a troubadour or wondering minstrel singing love songs which have both a spiritual and secular meaning, like Sufi Love poetry. My ambition was always to be seen and heard so I could really ‘sing my song’. At first I wanted to be a footballer, then a pop-star, like many boys. That dream has evolved now into composing and recording music which seeks to excess the Divine in all things and into working in Jungian Psychology* where I can help people become who they are meant to be. My Professional Career
I have been composing and recording music in both the Relaxation and Dance genres.
Since 1990 I have been producing music ideally suited to relaxation and therapy.
It has always been very important to me that I find the time to put something back into the music business that is of benefit to other people in terms of helping them with their well-being. I received many letters from all over the world from people who have listened to my BioRelax Music albums and it never ceases to delight me just how much they appreciate the experience of listening to my music. My goal is that it will help you wind down to a gentle state of calm. I wrote and recorded the album to bring a sense of peace and total tranquillity to the listener. |
